Bio

Tone Scott-Dahl is a Norwegian singer, songwriter and recording artist. She grew up in the city of Ålesund on the west coast of Norway, but now lives and works in Oslo. She has been singing since she could talk, and playing the piano since she could reach the keys. She started taking piano lessons at the age of six. One of her favorite activities as a child was to engage friends in making tape recordings where they improvised songs, lyrics and stories. Later she would sample instrumental parts from her favorite songs using record players and tape recorders in order to make her own vocal recordings with accompaniment.

Tone Scott-Dahl started writing songs and simple piano pieces when she was around nine years old. Singing, playing and composing music has always been an important part of her life. She has studied both contemporary singing and classical piano at the University of Agder, Norway, and has been singing together with a variety of pop and jazz bands. Tone has collaborated with many different musicians, performing at many clubs and festivals. She has always loved to experiment with many genres.

Tone Scott-Dahl has performed at Moldejazz, Jazzkaar, Riga Jazzfestival, Trebåtfestivalen i Risør, Kraftfestivalen, jazzclubs in the south of Norway, TV and radio.
